Tim began his triathlon career in 1994 at the Thames Turbo Club in Hampton, West London. An all rounder at school, Tim responded well to all the training required for the three discipline sport and in 1998 was crowned World Junior Champion.
A 10th place finish at Sydney 2000, one place behind pre race favourite Simon Lessing, showed he was progressing well and since then his career has gone from strength to strength. World Duathlon (2002), World Aquathlon (2005), World Triathlon (2006) and four British National (2004/5/6/7) titles followed, and he remains the only British male to have won an ITU World Cup since 2003.
As one of the favourites in Beijing, Tim unfortunately suffered food poisoning 3 days before his race. He started the race but sadly DNF’d. He is determined to be the man to beat in London 2012 and win Great Britain’s first Olympic medal.
