Adrian Hayes, British, is regarded as one of the world’s leading adventurer/explorers. Based in the UAE, Adrian is also a leading professional corporate coach and speaker.
Between 2006-2008, in the shortest period of time in history, Adrian reached the three extremes of the Earth, namely the North Pole, South Pole and summiting Mt Everest. Adrian became only the 15th person ever to achieve the feat. His accomplishment of reaching the “3 Poles” in 19 months 3 days is recognised in the 2009 edition of the Guinness World Records.
Adrian’s latest expedition – the Emirates NBD Greenland Quest – will see him leave the Atlantic coast of Greenland in mid-May 2009 and trek / kite ski across Greenland to the Arctic coast. Most Greenland trips are East to West and take 20 days. Adrian’s is the equivalent of London to Cairo or 3,500 kms and 60-80 days. Accompanied by colleagues Devon Mcdiarmuid and Derek Crowe, the trip is likely to be recognised as the longest unsupported Arctic Expedition in History. The route has never been done before. Adrian is using the trip as a platform to promote the issues of Sustainability and “One Planet Living” i.e. in simple terms, the planet is currently using the resources of 3-7 planets depending on where the global region. Adrian has had a lifetime of adventures and extreme sports, leading or being a team member on climbing expeditions all over the World, including the Himalayas, the European Alps, North America, New Zealand and Kenya. He takes part in adventure racing, triathlon, rock climbing, downhill skiing, parachuting, kayaking and more adventure and dangerous sports.
A former Gurkha Officer and Special Forces soldier in the British Army, Adrian is a highly experienced jungle and desert operator, having served in the jungles of Borneo and the deserts of Southern Oman during his military career. He has carried out underwater salvage and explosive operations in the remote islands of the South Pacific and qualified as a Paramedic in his time with the UK Special Forces Reserves (21 SAS).
Adrian is dedicated to health, nutrition and fitness. In October 2008, he won the “UAEs Fittest Man 2008″ competition for the second time in his career, beating the UK National Champion.
Finally, Adrian is a leading international motivational speaker. He has worked with many of the Middle East’s leading blue-chip companies in this field. He is now looking to spend more time on the speaking circuits of both North America and Europe.
A former Sales Director of Airbus, Adrian career path has taken him from the building site to the barracks, then to the boardroom and now to the back of beyond!
