The Etihad Airways Football Community Week, in association with Manchester City Football Club (MCFC), kicked off yesterday in Abu Dhabi.
Over the next week; March 3rd to March 7th, the programme will see more than 500 students take part in the coaching sessions with MCFC community coaches. The initiative, now in its fourth year, aims to promote grass roots football in the region and encourage the younger generation to develop their football skills.
2013 is the first year the Etihad Airways Football Community Week takes on a “pop-up” format, enabling a larger number of children across the UAE to take part. The MCFC coaches will travel around the Emirates over the next week, spending each day in a different location and teaching school children basic football skills.
