First Olympic medal for Partridge
August 17, 2008
Alex Partridge won his first Olympic medal by being part of the Great Britain team that took the silver in the final of the men’s eights rowing event. Despite a powerful finish from the British team, it was not enough to overtake the Canadians, who led the race from start to finish.
Professional Sports Group client Partridge suffered a punctured lung four years ago in Athens that forced him to withdraw from the coxless four team, which went on to clinch Matthew Pinsent’s fourth gold medal.
The men’s eight second-place finish resulted in Great Britain ending the rowing event with two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
