Dash 2016

Professional Sports Group delivered the 4th edition of the Dolphin Energy Doha Dash on Tuesday 9th February 2016 with great success. The largest non-governmental event in Qatar, held in celebration of Qatar National Sport Day, saw another year-on-year increase in participation with an impressive 3,746 competitors.

Returning to Losail international Circuit with the addition of a new 10km distance, this year the Dolphin Energy Doha Dash was a five race event, enabling more people of all ages and abilities to take part. International event ambassador, Dame Kelly Holmes, who not only presented prizes but also took part in the inaugural 10km race said, “It has been a great opportunity for me to return to Doha and join runners again this year. It was refreshing to see many families coming out to participate and cheer each other on. Sports can be so much fun and this is a key message from today’s event.”

This community event was not just about the races. The ever popular Event Village creates a great atmosphere for partners, participants and spectators, and was brimming with sporting activities, giveaways, specialised catering options, the GO Sport Fitness specialists and even the Etihad Airways F1 simulator for all to experience.

Among the participants and spectators who enjoyed the event were stakeholders, rights holders and Qatari Royal Family. Sheika Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani tweeted that she “enjoyed watching children and adults run and walk the annual @dohadash”.

The team are looking forward the prospects of developing the event further for 2017.
