Congratulations to both our swimmers, Fran Halsall and Siobhan-Marie O’Connor who have both received nominations at the prestigious, The Sunday Times and Sky Sportswomen of the Year awards in recognition of their achievements this year.

Fran has been nominated for the Sportswomen of the Year award. 2014 has been a fantastic year for Fran, proving she has all the elements to become one of GB’s most successful swimmers. Fran became Double European Champion and Double Commonwealth Champion this year and multiple medal winner in both competitions.

Siobhan-Marie O’Connor has been nominated for the Young Sportswomen of the year award. Announcing her arrival on the swimming scene at her first Commonwealth Games this year, Siobhan proved she is the one to watch. A 6 medal haul, including 1 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze, Siobhan equalled the record for the most number of medals won by a female athlete at a Commonwealth Games.
