Maxx Royal

PSG’s award-winning golf marketing division was called into action during the recent Turkish Airlines Open, working with the host venue of the European Tour’s penultimate event of 2014, The Montgomerie Maxx Royal, to create a promotional platform worthy of international attention.

In tandem with the hotel ownership, the PSG team was tasked with creating a bespoke event which showcased the luxury of the Maxx Royal and linked the venue closely with the world-class field competing in the European Tours Final Series tournament.

PSG conceived and managed the Maxx Royal Target Challenge, working with Ryder Cup stars Martin Kaymer and Victor Dubuisson, who competed in the firework fuelled shoot-out from the roof of the Maxx Royal hotel.

A two-time Major winner, Kaymer said: “This is how golf should be played; under floodlights with fireworks! I think everyone was really impressed with the course and hotel last year, and this year I think it is even better. This is a big week for the European Tour and for us players, and the Maxx Royal is a great venue for the occasion.”

PSG’s Gary Davidson, Account Director for the Maxx Royal Target Challenge, commented: “The Maxx Royal is a stunning venue which has been incredibly well received by players and the European Tour since the first Turkish Airlines Open last year.

“We wanted to create something which really showcased the quality of the venue and linked with the event; the Maxx Royal Target Challenge did just that! To have Martin and Victor take part on the eve of such a big event is fantastic and they put on a great show for the crowd.”

After being watched by 3,000 hotel guests through a live TV broadcast, PSG utilised its media distribution to send the spectacular event shots around the world, positioning the Maxx Royal as a spectacular European Tour host with the global golf media.
