PSG confirms Brownlee Tri returns to Harewood House in 2015
PSG has announced that the Brownlee Tri will be returning to Harewood House in Yorkshire on Saturday 26 September 2015. This will be the 3rd year of Olympic and Commonwealth medallists Alistair and Jonny Brownlee’s legacy triathlon event, delivered by Professional Sports Group, with the ambition of becoming the largest triathlon in the North of England.
For the brothers it is exciting to repeat their own event at a great venue and so close to their homes. Alistair Brownlee commented “We’re really pleased to be able to bring the Brownlee Tri back to Harewood House. It’s such a great triathlon venue with a course that offers something for everyone: young and old, experienced or new to the sport.” Jonny added “Last year was brilliant, seeing so many people competing and enjoying themselves at a venue only 10 minutes from our own home.”
Over 1,000 participants and 4,000 spectators were at the 2014 Brownlee Tri, with the 2015 event set to be bigger and better, with space for even more competitors to take part. The fantastic super-sprint and sprint course on closed roads, and almost all within the grounds of the Harewood estate, has been praised for its exciting cycle route and scenic run. It offers the participants the best of the Yorkshire outdoors along with the chance to meet Alistair and Jonny before or after their race.
PSG’s Race Director Louise Cornish said “We’re delighted that the Brownlee Tri is returning to Harewood House, which we believe is one of the UK’s best triathlon venues. As with this year’s Brownlee Tri, we want to deliver a premium triathlon experience for competitors of all abilities as well as a great day out for the thousands of friends and families who turn up to support.”
